2017-2018 Assessment Schedule


Fall Testing Window: August 21-September 1
Kindergarten
Teachers can test their own students. Testing may begin in Kindergarten beginning 8/4 to 9/1.
  • Full OBS 
    • Letter ID

First Grade
  • Full OBS administered by a Reading Recovery teacher to the following students in August:
    • Bottom 30% tested based on the end of the year kindergarten testing/ranking and any new student to the district. 

  • Classroom Teacher will administer during testing window to ALL students:
    • Teacher’s College Testing – Reading 
    • Letter ID (no retesting after 100% is reached)
    • CAP – Yum! Yum! Keystone Book
    • Text Level - Set 1 – find both independent (at 96% or above) and instructional level with good process (at or below 95%) 
    • Easy CBM (students take on-line)
      • Reading 
      • Letter Sounds
    • Word Reading Fluency
    • Math (Common Core version)
    • Writing Assessments - Fall
      • On-demand Narrative Prompt Pre-Assessment - October 2-5
    • Guaranteed Curriculum - Fall
      • Common Assessment - Mechanimals - September 25 - October 5
Second Grade
  • Teacher's College Reading Assessment
  • Text level – Set 1 - find both independent (at 96% or above) and instructional level with good process (at or below 95%) 
  • Easy CBM (students take on-line)

    • Vocabulary
    • Reading Comprehension
  • Math (Common Core version) – no calculators. Students may use the read-aloud function available during this assessment.
  • Writing

Third through Fifth Grade

  • Guided Reading groups should begin no later than Aug. 14. Groups can be formed from end of year data from Spring 2017. Re-test students as needed. Contact your coach to help with testing any new students to find text level.
